Superior’s Message
Dear Friend and Benefactor,
Peace to you and we pray that you are doing well as we move into the summer season. It is beautiful here in the Pecos Valley, the river continues to run pretty high with all the rain we have received, for which we thank God.
Our guest house has slowed down somewhat – so we pray for guests to come and enjoy this beautiful place. We do have groups scheduled for the Tolomei for which we are grateful. Our Hermitages are also available.
There is much to pray for in our world at this time. How quickly life can change, so we pray for al the troubled areas of the world and for those to whom heavy decisions weigh on their shoulders. We know that the best thing we can do is pray, pray, and pray. So this is what we do.
You will see that Br Jim Marron died on May 21st. The obituary is quite revealing, as Br Jim was such a quiet and private monk. His sister Jean wrote it so we thank her for giving us all an insight into Br Jim’s life prior to coming to Pecos.
Jim was the last of those who were here when I first entered the monastery 22 years ago. A lot has changed. I miss him…he was always here for me and we would spend a lot of time in prayer with one another. May he be resting in peace after all his labors.
I pray you have a beautiful, safe and enjoyable summer season. We thank you for all your support…
Pray for world peace.
God bless you all,
Most sincerely,
Abbot Aidan, OSB
Planned Gift Giving:
To help us continue our monastic life and mission to be a beacon of light in the world, we value your ongoing help. We are a small community living a very simple life of prayer and work. We all know that prayer is very important, and we come together every day to pray for you and the needs of the world.
